Local Natives to release new song only streamable at polling stations on Election Day

Local Natives have announced the release of a new song coming this November 8th, a.k.a. Election Day. However, you won’t be able to hear it on Spotify or SoundCloud – instead, you’ll have to actually go to your local polling station.

In an effort to get people out to the polls, Rock the Vote and Goodby Silverstein & Partner will make the track available via their Election FM app. The app will provide directions to your nearest polling station. Once you’re in the vicinity of the location, you’ll be able to stream Local Natives’ new song as well as fresh tunes from The Head and the Heart, Watsky, and Adam Vida.

It’s a neat ploy, and if nothing else, it gives music fans waiting in potentially long voting lines something to listen to. Check out a video explaining the app and the special releases below.
