The first ever Roots Picnic NYC kicked off today at Bryant Park. During the first day of performances the Roots, D’Angelo, and John Mayer performed “Brown Sugar” and “Playa Playa” together. They were joined by legendary bassist Pino Palladino. Check out some footage below. The line-up for the two-day event includes Wu-Tang Clan, David Byrne, Nile Rodgers, Kevin Gates, KRS-One, Jeremih, Deerhoof, EPMD, Swizz Beatz, and more.
